We have a Toddler room to support children who are transitioning from the Baby Room into the next stage of their development. Babies grow rapidly in the first year, and we find there is a big difference between a baby who is one month old and a Toddler who is 1 year plus.

Our Toddler room has been carefully designed to ensure that we give our Toddlers the best opportunities in which they can develop and learn the skills they need to reach those important milestones, with carefully selected child height furniture throughout the room to help support and encourage those little walking feet, a child height sink for those early stages of independence and a heuristic area that promotes exploration, investigation and open ended play.

Within the Toddler room and throughout, we focus on ensuring that every child feels safe, happy and confident. We build this in a variety of ways such as incorporating songs into our routine, our Toddlers favourite is the dinner song '"dinners coming, dinners coming". By doing these simple songs it helps children understand what is coming, leaving out any uncertainties of what is happening next.

Toddlers are keen to explore the world around them and at Footsteps, we encourage this natural instinct.

We share information with you via Tapestry, an online journal that records all the learning and fun of your child’s early education. Each child’s development and personal interests are recorded in their Learning Journal using observations, photos and videos from nursery. We record special moments and keep you and any person you authorise, involved in a partnership with us as your child blossoms and grows. Parents are able to view and comment on these special moments, and are able to contribute their own stories of the child’s life outside of nursery.
