Preschool 2 Room

3.5 Years to 4 Years

The final stage of nursery is about preparing your child for their next big adventure.. School! As our children approach primary school age, our practitioners work hard to develop the children’s confidence and independence, and strive to ensure all children are well prepared for a smooth transition.

Our vision is to ensure when our not so little ones leave us for their new adventure that they are confident, independent and resilient. We build this by allowing our children to take risks, supporting them with resolving confrontations and showing them different ways in which their voices can be heard. We focus on childrens emotions and feelings, allowing children to express themselves and discussing why we feel a certain way and what we can do about it to make ourselves or others feel better.

Our children have responsibilities, they use a self registration system when they arrive providing them with a sense of belonging, they set up activities for the day and get resources ready such as the paint for the art room. There are learning opportunities at every turn, from role play, baking, clay modelling, blocks, maths and language through to ICT and an outdoor sand Kitchen.

We tailor our day around our children's interests and development needs; not forgetting those spontaneous moments. From creative constructions to wide-ranging interests, there’s always something unique and exciting happening within our Pre-school 2 Room.

We share information with you via Tapestry, an online journal that records all the learning and fun of your child’s early education. Each child’s development and personal interests are recorded in their Learning Journal using observations, photos and videos from nursery. We record special moments and keep you and any person you authorise, involved in a partnership with us as your child blossoms and grows. Parents are able to view and comment on these special moments, and are able to contribute their own stories of the child’s life outside of nursery.
